Within this article the author emphasized some amazing reasons and points as to why a diverse workforce is so important and offers tips on how to build a diverse workforce. The author touches on how he feels it is important to create a diverse workforce in order to compete in todays global world. Within this course we discuss this idea of a global workforce and managing across different geographic locations. The reason as to why this topic is so pertinent in our lives is due to the fact that in this age diversity is inevitable. I learned in the article that a diverse workforce can be created in many ways and take many forms, but they all contain a wide range of individuals who come from different backgrounds and provide insight into the human experience. Ideally, we need exposure to these differences to understand people and our world better. We can not have desires of being wealthy entrepreneurs or experienced managers without having knowledge with how to work and assess in a culturally diverse environments. The principles of diversity range far and wide due to the cultural traditions in different countries. However, having an open mind and a open spirit to learn about these different ethic groups, religious groups, cultural traditions will not only offer us knowledge but it will offer us skills in how to work amongst all people from all over the world.
