Othello is based in the city of Venice during the night hours. In the play Roderigo is discussing matters of the military post with Lago. It seems that Lago had missed an opportunity with the military post. Casssio plays the role of the lieutenant and is equipped with strategies. According to Lago, Cassio is a self centered man and only focuses on pursuing his own interests in Othello.
