Amnesia refers to a disorder which brings about memory loss among affected individuals. The disorder is brought about by various factors that include psychological trauma, brain damage, and disease. In some instances, amnesia occurs temporarily due to the use of hypnotic drugs and various sedatives. The memory of individuals suffering from this disorder can be lost either wholly or partially.
