Yet the institution of the presidency has grown, over time. This expansion of presidential power and the growth of the federal bureaucracies, through executive interpretation ofArticle II of the Constitution, is a dominant feature of the modern presidency.

It is a matter of fact that the United States presidency has dramatically grown in recent years. The U.S. presidency today is very different from what it was in the 1950s and 1850s. In modern times, important decisions affecting the nation are made in secret, with very minimal and sometimes no input from the Congress. The reason behind this aspect is that the powers of the federal government are getting concentrated into the hands of a few individuals.
