Hospitals are changing these days and are jumping on the band wagon when it comes to environmental degradation. Sustainability involves accountability, planning and foresight and takes place in every industry, at every level and by every individual. Hospitals began their movement with the ambition of only a few employees. When you look in the healthcare system as a whole you see a mass waste. The sustainable site measurement encourages building on already developed land and focuses on keeping construction pollution to a minimum. Health care sustainability needs to fulfill functions analogous to those laid out above for health care quality measures if t is to be useful. Healthcare corporations undertake sustainability reporting through their corporate social responsibility. There have been many hospitals that are following suit and many will gear up their sustainable practices in order to compete on a global scale with other who have practices in place. Hospitals now would fight against environmental degradation and destruction.
