Supervisor review

Description
For the Session Long Project you will be applying the concepts in the background materials to your own personal experiences in the workplace.  For this first SLP choose a supervisor that you personally worked for and got to know well, and apply the background materials to analyze their leadership qualities.  Carefully reflect on your supervisor rsquo;s traits, behaviors, and leadership styles.  Then write a two- to three-page paper addressing the following issues:
Overall, would you consider your supervisor to be more of a manager or more of a leader or even more of an Entrepreneur? Refer to Landsberg Rsquo;s (2011) discussion of the distinction between a leader and a manager or to Springer Rsquo;s (2013) comparison of managers, leaders and entrepreneurs or to both in your answer.
How would you describe your supervisor rsquo;s personality and leadership traits?
Would you describe your supervisor rsquo;s behavior as being task-oriented, or people-centered/relationship-oriented?
How would you describe your supervisor rsquo;s leadership style? Consider leadership styles discussed in the background text materials such as autocratic style, participative/democratic style, and laissez-faire/free-rein style.

SLP Assignment Expectations
Follow the assignment instructions closely and follow all steps listed in the instructions
Stay focused on the precise assignment questions, don’t go off on tangents or devote a lot of space to summarizing general background materials
List supporting references and cite sources in proper format
Use appropriate writing style in essay form (organization, grammar, and spelling).
A good place to start is this interactive tutorial that will give you a brief overview of some of the key terms and concepts regarding leadership:
Leadership skills and styles. (2014). Pearson Learning Solutions, Pearson, New York.
Now delve deeper into this topic by reading some of the Luthans’ chapter on leadership theories. We will also be using portions of this book for Modules 2 and 3:
Luthans, F., Luthans, K. W., &Luthans, B. C. (2015). Chapter 13: Effective leadership processes. Organizational Behavior: An Evidence-based Approach. Charlotte, North Carolina: Information Age Publishing, pp. 375-382. Retrieved from EBSCO eBook Collection. [eBook Academic Collection. Note: you don’t have to read the whole chapter, just the pages on contingency theories and Path Goal theory] Note: You only have to read the first seven pages in this chapter but the rest of the chapter will be covered in Module 2. Also, to find books in the eBook online libraries don’t copy and paste the entire reference into the search engine. Instead only use the title of the book. For example, use the following search terms into the eBook search engine to find this book “Organizational Behavior: An Evidence-based Approach” ]
Finally, take a look at the following readings, because they have essential information for this module:
Landsberg, M. (2011). Chapter 17: Leading or managing? The Tools Of Leadership : Vision, Inspiration, Momentum. London: Profile Books Ltd. [eBook Business Collection]
Springer, M. (2013). Chapter 19: Managers, Leaders, and Entrepreneurs. Project and Project Management: A Competency-based Approach. West Lafayette: Purdue University Press. [eBook Business Collection]
