Chapter Two uses the Flood Story from the Epic of Gilgamesh (pp. 29-30) to illustrate the ways Historians use primary sources to understand the past. After reading this section of the poem, consider the context of the source and answer the following questions:
1. Using at least TWO examples from the text, what might this source tell us about this society?
2. What might the similarities between Gilgamesh\’s tale and Noah\’s story in the Old Testament tell us about the influence of Mesopotamian society during this period?
