The United States was justified to go into war with Spain. Despite the fact that the Republican president was not ready to start this war the Americans had to fight back after Madrid declared war on America.  It is also important to note that Cuba’s long struggle for independence was an issue that USA had raised and wanted the Spaniards to let go the control of Cuba. The Spaniards were not happy and the mysterious sinking of the USA battle ship, The Maine, was a reason to have the united states intervention in the ongoing war against the Spaniards…………………………………………..
