You have systematically examined social work assessment tools

Throughout the course, you have systematically examined social work assessment tools and interventions for use with various age groups across the life span. You have analyzed the benefits and drawbacks of these tools and techniques, and you have envisioned yourself implementing them in practice. You have also considered ethical situations that arise when connecting with clients. All of these activities assist you in becoming a strong, competent, ethically oriented, and committed practitioner who can work with a range of populations.

In this Final Project, you solidify that commitment by gathering all of your Practice Toolbox submissions into one document and revising them as needed. You then write a summary outlining your ideal population on which to focus your practice and the challenges that might accompany your work.

By Day 7

Assessment Tools and Interventions

Elderly/Aging Adult Intervention
Using your Week 10 Discussion as a foundation, analyze  ( 1 page) the elderly/aging adult intervention you chose in the same manner as you analyzed the interventions for other age groups. Specifically, answer the following questions:
•       Why did you select the intervention?
•       Why might it be especially helpful for use with elderly/aging adults?
•       What challenges or limitations might there be for this intervention?

 And then Summary
Write a 1-page summary describing your ideal population to work with, based on your research and work throughout the term. Is this the same population you identified in Week 1, or has your perspective changed? Identify the ethical, moral, and value challenges you might see in working with this population.

NOTE; my population in week 1: Families and children  ( I didn’t change)

WEEK 10 DISCUSSION

The significance of addressing wellness holistically with the elderly/aging population.

As the elderly population expands quickly, there will be a greater demand for services that deal with their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. To give this demographic the greatest care possible, wellness needs to be approached holistically. A holistic strategy considers the individual as a whole, not simply their physical health. This covers both their physical and psychological well-being as well as their social and religious requirements.

The aged population needs a comprehensive approach to wellbeing for a number of reasons. First off, there is a higher likelihood of chronic illnesses in this demographic, which call for various therapies. A holistic approach can help reduce some of the tension associated with this because it can be overwhelming and distressing. Second, there is a higher likelihood of loneliness and isolation among the elderly. To some extent, that loneliness can be reduced by taking a comprehensive strategy that also incorporates social and spiritual elements. Last but not least, a holistic strategy may support ensuring that the senior population gets the greatest care possible, including both physical and emotional support.

There are numerous approaches to provide elderly people with holistic wellness care. Offering services that address physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs is one strategy to promote overall wellness. Giving out information and tools that emphasise wellness and healthy ageing is another method. Finally, it’s critical to develop conditions that support healthy ageing, including accessible housing, means of transportation, and social opportunities.
Describe your selected intervention for this population. In what ways is the intervention you chose holistic

Art therapy is the intervention I’ve decided to use. Art is used as a medium of communication in the treatment practise known as “art therapy.” It can be applied to deal with a wide range of problems, such as trauma, sorrow, and mental health problems.

Since art therapy considers the full person, not only their physical health, it is a holistic intervention. It can be applied to deal with problems with one’s mental health, trauma, and sorrow, all of which can have a significant negative effect on one’s emotional and physical well-being. Additionally, art therapy is a social and spiritual intervention since it fosters community and offers a platform for self-expression and healing.

Because it can assist in addressing the many health issues of this population, art therapy is a successful intervention for the elderly. It is also a social and spiritual remedy that can lessen isolation and offer a forum for expression and recovery.
