Social media platforms

For this exercise, you should use the same company you used for Exercise 10 last week when you anticipated and analyzed the company’s Facebook page.  Now you will build on that exercise to extend it to other social media platforms.  Spend some time exploring the retailer’s Web site and/or its physical operations.  Do NOT visit any of the retailer’s social media pages until AFTER you answer the first three questions.

To receive credit for this exercise, REPLY to THIS message and answer the following questions:

Based on your knowledge of the company and what you learned from exploring its Web site and/or physical location and its Facebook page last week, what additional social media platforms do you think this company should pursue?  Why?

Would the company’s social media objective(s) change for these new social media sites?  Does the relative importance of the primary and secondary objectives differ from one platform to another? Why or why not?

Without looking as the company’s social media pages, what content breakdown would you propose for each of the platforms you selected?  Provide one example of a post for each of the sites you selected.

Starting with the social media platforms you selected, does your company have an account on this platform?  Does the actual content achieve the objective(s) you identified above? If not, is it because the page exhibits a different objective or because of poor execution.  Does the company’s use of other social media platforms match the breakdown of content you proposed?  Why or why not?
