Week 10 Assignment

Using the resources and readings provided for this week, your assignment is to select a research method and design that would be appropriate for your specialization (special education) and the research questions that you have written. See week 6 and 9 assignment for research questions that had been used. Also attached are all the assignments for each week that will assist…5 thru 9 along with the mention article below and topic being researched.

Select a method and design appropriate for the doctoral degree you are seeking (EdD).  Create a brief summary of the quantitative research methods that you have chosen to focus on.

Quantitative studies must demonstrate both internal and external validity (e.g., large, random samples, statistical power, and representativeness). Qualitative studies must demonstrate validity within the context of the specific qualitative design (e.g., credibility, dependability, transferability, trustworthiness). Replication studies are not permitted. Your summary must address the following:

1.      Note a specific method and design you are thinking of using in your research.

2.      Describe and substantiate the appropriateness of the method and design considering your ideas on the potential problem, purpose, and research questions.

3.      Discuss how the proposed method and design accomplish the study goals and how the method aligns with the purpose and research questions.

4.      Explain the particular data collection techniques and data analyses processes including a proposed sample size.  The sample size must be appropriate based on the nature of the study design. Quantitative analyses must include justified sample size determination.
