Luther was more effective in bringing about religious reform

In my view, Luther was more effective in bringing religious reform compared to Erasmus.  This is explained by the fact that Luther accepts that some passages are difficult to understand. Contrarily, Hendrix (2004) asserts that Erasmus feels that the inability of people to understand some specific passages is because of their own weaknesses.  When faced in such situations, Erasmus explains the need for individual to stick to the plain and simple meaning of scripture. In establishing the role of the press, it should be noted that the press offered a significant boost to Luther especially in developing texts that were spread…………………..
