Public health threats are addressed at various levels of authority, ranging from country, state/province, city/town, and individual facilities. Approaches used by each of these authorities varies, depending on the population, severity of disease, staffing of responders and professionals, and other logistical factors.
Research public health threats and accompanying prevention/management plans in the United States. You may choose to focus on a geographic region (state, town) or a facility (hospital, community center, etc.) Threats or disasters could include disease (COVID-19, Flu, etc.) or natural disasters (hurricanes, tornados, etc.) If you examine natural disasters, be sure to focus on the public health aspect (impacts on a person’s physical, mental, emotional health).
