Going green in the overall purchasing decision for health care products and supplies can get pretty pricey on the budget as the green products are more expensive. I think it is important to try and use as many green products as possible, but not a necessity due to budget, cost of products, supplies shortages, and time restraints when the product is needed. I think that being aware of the products that are being purchased and trying to conserve energy and keeping the environment in mind when able to is a start. Using energy efficient light bulbs and using recycled products. According to our reading preventative care for HVAC and other equipment can safe money in the long run as well because having clean and well maintained equipment will save money to prevent from having to repair them when they go bad or become overly dirty when funding is usually cut from these types of repairs when they are needed.
