The Voir Dire Examination Process

If you were drafting questions for a particular jury pool in an assault case; what questions might you ask of a potential juror and why? What facts of the case would you want to review before the jury selection process begins?

Note: The purpose of this question is to prompt discussion of the jury selection process for a trial. Although the example used is an assault case, you do not need to know the specifics or elements of an assault case.
