“A Worn Path” is a story about an old woman, Phoenix, who is trying to make her way through the country into town on her own, by foot. The story begins by defining Phoenix structure and her old age. She struggles to keep balance and overcome the challenges she is faced with trying to get through the forest, bushes and even crossing the fence, whereby she finally makes it to her destination (Welty, 1).
