Personal power/relationships provide the foundation for generating the influence needed to be effective as a leader and for building constituency. Therefore, it is important to understand what power is, whether you have it, and how you can increase it, in part through building more effective relationships. The purpose of this assignment is to apply the power/relationship concepts to yourself and your work situation as teacher. Using the power concepts described in the text, explain the sources of power that are available to you, the ones that you possess, and assess the power network in your organization by evaluating who the key power holders are and why.
