Undergraduates Final Presentation: Your final assignment will be to create a presentation only that connects or addresses an issue related to Native American language and education issues in southwest Native communities. However, please provide a simple handout that provides an overview of your main points. (45 pts)

In general, the following applies to the undergraduate requirements for this assignment:
Create a media presentation using an appropriate presentation format (e.g., Power point, video, Digital story telling, or Prezi) to present a topic or theme you have researched about Native language and education issues in the southwest. You are not to “re-package ” past class discussions or assigned readings but rather, to discuss a topic that you have researched outside of this class.
Your presentation must be uploaded for instructor review and grading. However, you will also be responsible for sharing your project that will be presented for viewing by other students in the class either through email or using UNM Learn.
The following general elements will be part of the grading rubric:
• Background information is provided about why the topic or issue is important to consider.
• Presentation identifies a key question, issue, or topic related to Native language and education.
• Key information is well organized, understandable, and clearly presented in each slide.
• All resources and references used in creating the presentation are appropriately cited in the ppt.
• Reference Section at the end of the presentation lists all resources including additional resources outside the assigned class readings reflecting student research about the topic.
• Creativity in development of the presentation.

The immersion of the Native American language (Navajo)in schools and projects is the main focus of this presentation. The  Navajo immersion encompasses the educational practices and the social development  that lies outside the teaching of the language, the education system and the way that children social  with each other as a result of the language. The Navajo immersion program is characterized  by native ways of learning, knowing and indigenous knowledge(Platero,A.J.2012). . Natives possess a faith in the role played by traditional native grand parents in teaching, learning and development of language.
