You can make your own policies and procedures for your store, you know your products very well and are able to share your expertise with the customer. You can carry the products you would like to carry in your store, you make the decisions as to what occurs within your facility. You can offer promotions to new and existing customers. You choose which holidays you will be open and which you will be closed. No need to ask anyone else for permission as you are the owner.

Disadvantages might include, financial risk, financial loss, you may not have a lot of family time if you own your own business, stress, high costs.
