Many multinational companies are unable to expand their firms to new locations because of lack of qualified managers. However, globalization has led to these firms realizing the importance of human resource as a competitive advantage. Today, many global firms have invested heavily in human resource with an aim of increasing their profits. This has in turn their staff acquiring global competencies, thus enabling their firms to compete on a global scale. There are several global competencies needed for a firm to earn huge profits from their global operations (Corbett, 2004).
