Chapter Eight of Making Connections: Understanding Interpersonal Communication addresses the various elements that attract us to other people when we first enter a relationship. It might be just one thing that we like about another person or it could be several things. What do you look for in other people when you first meet them? This could be a potential romantic partner or even a platonic friend. Either way, we each look for or are attracted to certain things when we meet people. What I look for in people that I come across

Whenever I come across a person, there are several features that I usually look for. The first aspect is honesty. I usually want to have friends who I can trust with anything. However, it is very difficult to trust an individual who is not honest. This is based on the fact that it will be extremely difficult to believe in anything that the individual is telling you (Wright, 2007).
