Research Paper
You will write a 3 page research paper on a leader, either a historical or current person. This person should be someone who is an inspiration to you; someone you respect and admire.
The paper should include some of the following information: background (education, family influence, defining life experiences, role model(s), leadership experience, work experience), what the person is known for, his/her contribution to the world, and why you chose this person.
The research paper will be 3 pages (double spaced, Times New Roman or Arial, and size 12 font) and include a reference list of sources used in the paper.
Sources
There must be 4-5 sources used in the paper.
When documenting sources, follow MLA or APA format.
There must be at least one citation from each of the following categories:
– Book (with an author – not an encyclopedia or other reference book)
– Newspaper or magazine article
– Website
– Online or print reference source (e.g. Wikipedia or other encyclopedia)

Background
Mahatma Gandhi was born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in a Hindu merchant caste family in Gujarat, India on 2nd October, 1869. He was the leader of the Indian Independence Movement which agitated for the independence of India from British colonization (Gandhi, Atkinson, and Gandhi, 1985). He died on January 30th, 1948 from the bullet of an assassin. He is best remembered for advocating nonviolent civil disobedience to compel oppressors to give freedom to the oppressed.
