Strategic Management, Ch. 5–6 (Optional)

Review Ch. 5, “Strategies in Action,” and Ch. 6, “Strategy Analysis and Choice” to learn about turning opportunities and threats into a competitive advantage.

This week we are looking at how to evaluate the external environment. David et al. (2020) provided us with different analytical tools to use for this. Since our assignment this week is the Country Profile Matrix, I would like to focus on the “10 External Forces that Impact Organizations” (David, David, & David, 2020, p. 69). These external forces are: economic; social; cultural; demographic; environmental; political; governmental; legal; technological; competitive forces (David, David, & David, 2020). David et al. posited that competitive forces are “the most important part of an external audit.” Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?
