Topic 1: Drafting Letters
Your supervising attorney has given you a client file and the notes from a recent meeting with the client. She mentioned to you that she really has little detailed recollection of the meeting. Her former paralegal, which left the firm three weeks ago to move to somewhere in Spain, attended the meeting and prepared the notes. There seem to be a great many gaps in the information contained in the notes; you are not even certain what the client wants.
What should you do?

Your supervising attorney, Kelly Ramsey, has asked you to draft a letter to a new client. The client, Annabelle Smythe-Jones, wants to divorce her husband, a wealthy local industrialist. Ms. Ramsey has spoken to Annabelle by telephone and set a lunch meeting for 11:45 am on August 22 at the Oilman’s Club. Ms. Ramsey has asked you to reserve a conference room from 2:30 pm until 5:00 pm on the 22nd, because it is possible that she and Anabelle will return to the office after lunch to continue the meeting in private. Raphael Hernandez, a family law associate for your firm, will also attend the lunch.
What kind of letter should you draft to Anabelle?

The first thing is to try and research into the case. Why did the paralegal prepare a shoddy work? Was the client not coopering or was it something else. Getting to know the baseline information of the case is the first step in this case………………………………………………..
