  1. What are the characteristics of the ideal learning organization?
  2. What are the observable behaviors for each characteristic?
  3. What would be the result of these behaviors?
  4. What are barriers to achieving these characteristics?
  5. How would I know if the organization was making progress towards becoming a learning organization?
  6. Select four characteristics that are most compelling to you and the organization.
  7. How can your organization achieve these characteristics?
  8. What are the major barriers?
  9. Develop strategies to overcome the barriers.

Writing the Reflective Paper

The Reflective Paper:

  • Must be eight double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide.Title, reference, and any exhibits or appendices are not counted in the paper length.
  • Must include a cover page that includes:
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Name of paper
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  • Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
  • Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  • Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
  • Must include at least five full-text scholarly sources, including at least three from the Ashford Online Library
  • Must use APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide to document all sources.
  • Must include, on the final page, a Reference List that is completed according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Executive summary

            A learning organization can be described as an organization which is in a position to change the mind-set or behaviors of its employees because of experience. Many organizations fail to accept the fact that training their training their employees is an ideal activity. Instead, they keep on repeating dysfunctional and undesirable behaviors which tend to have negative impacts on their employees. For instance, some managers keep on restructuring initiatives which were not successful in the past despite them costing the organization a lot of resources (Schlechty, 2013).
