At birth, the babies make sounds that express the pleasure of pain. Language starts at birth whereby the new babies are conversant with the sounds near them. It is evident in the way they cry after hearing unexpected sounds. In between 0-3 months, the babies can respond to one’s sound evident in the way they turn after hearing a voice, and they keep quiet after hearing a familiar voice. They respond to comforting sounds whether familiar or not. The baby smiles in the presence of a familiar face with the repetition of the same sound.
