Write a 2 page analysis of the use of language in the group you are researching.

Use a minimum of ONE academic text source that discusses language. You should also make use of your interview transcripts, which should have real people from the group actually using the language you are discussing.
Include APA in-text citations and a works cited page.
Should cover at least two of the following areas:
Discuss any professional or cultural jargon—Where the words come from, how they developed, how use of them shows inclusion in the group
Discuss any group-specific slang and compare to other similar groups that may use different slang (for example, ODU students’ slang or inside jokes vs. those of students at other schools).
Discuss how the group-specific language of your topic group makes those in the group feel a part of the group and/or, conversely, how group-specific language serves to exclude those on the outside. Talk about any problems this may create with inter- and/or intra-group dynamics.
Discuss the relationship between your topic group’s language and other elements of its culture. What does the language say about who these people are?

Analysis of English Language

English is believed to have originated from Germany with some scholars saying that it was obtained from a mixture of Latin and Greek. Despite English being a language, it is also considered as a culture. For instance, we often hear people being told to act and behave the English way. This is because the users of English language are believed to be gentle and kind to others. This is the main reason why the English language is widely used in many parts of the world (Skandera, 2007).
