MY PARAGRAPH
Humans cut down over fifteen billion trees every year (Crowther et al.). This statistic comes from a well-known and credible research study that was done to find out how many trees exist in the world. Considering the fact that deforestation consumes a tree population that is more than twice the size of Earth\’s human population, it is undoubtedly true that dire circumstances await in the future. In essence, deforestation is a crime against the environment that is primarily committed to meet the demand for wood and paper in the world. Deforestation harms the environment in two major ways. Firstly, after being cut down, trees are traded and sold off to corporations that make furniture, paper, and firewood. Secondly, the cleared-out land is sold to other corporations looking to raise their buildings and manufacturing industries. These two factors postulate that deforestation is a major problem that plagues and threatens the future of the modern world. This paper compares and contrasts how deforestation is changing the living circumstances in two nuclear-powered neighboring countries, i.e., India and Pakistan. In addition to articulating the reasons why each country is facing deforestation, the paper also postulates two ways in which each country is combating deforestation for a sustainable future.
