I would have to say that based on my work experiences I have three strong competencies which are communication, relationship management and ethical practice. I have always been able to communicate effectively to my staff and have the ability for conflict resolution quickly when times have called for it. Interacting with staff, stakeholders, administration and patients is a large part of my role in my healthcare profession and I have done well always being able to maintain productive interpersonal relationships. Part of being ethical in the workplace I believe is truly caring about people and showing empathy for tough situations and real life. The one competency that I would have to say that I would like to improve upon is critical thinking skills. Frequently in my line of work I have needed to balance complex situations and really take my time to think with well-founded processes but also ideas that are outside of the box. While I have been able to do that I would like to be able to be quicker on my feet with this skill. I believe that competent and proficient HR professionals truly understand how their behaviors affects activities within their organization as well as the bottom dollar.

Hello Class and Instructor, I have never worked in Human Resources and I am currently from from home. I know I need to build some skills to help me on my career path to become a good Human Resources worker. My strong points I know I am good at is being open and honest, works well under pressure, works well with others and I like to be a team leader in plans or ideas and organizing .

My weak points I know I would need to work on are public speaking or public reading. I can improve my weaknesses by practice or volunteering or just setting up when opportunity calls. I have been a at home mom for 4 years and I know I would have to start from scratch and I will have to stand out , especially to someone with more knowledge and background history of certain positions.
