Which of those countries fascinates you the most and why?

Hong Kong(SAR) is the location that fascinates me the most out of all the other countries because it\’s the only country with the extremes of Low or High in their ratings. It is also categorized as Hong Kong (being a city, not a country) and not China. This makes me wonder if different locations in china have extremely different views on this matter. Or is “mainland China” just very different from Hong Kong? I wonder why China’s southern part of the country has such strong beliefs; the culture, traditions, religion can all be influencers.

According to the information in that table, what are the key cultural differences between the United States and the country you chose?

Power distance as our textbook explains “concerns how a culture deals with hierarchical power relationships” where Hong Kong\’s score is 68 considered High and US 40 considered low. Both agree on having low scores in uncertainty avoidance. They both have high masculinity scores with the US having 62 and Hong Kong 57. There is a huge difference between the long-term orientation. Hong Kong is strongly a long-term orientation and focused on the future versus the US is one of the long-term scores.

In that other country, how effective do you think each of the following practices will be and why?

Self-managing work teams United states is low on power distance, high on individuality, high on masculinity, low on uncertainty avoidance, and low on long – term orientation. Russia, on the other hand is high on power distance, moderate on individuality, low on masculinity, high on uncertainty avoidance, and low on long term orientation. Many us managers are transplanting their own HRM practices into Russia while companies seek to develop operations there.
