In this discussion, we will assess the present by looking back at the past. Here’s what to do:
First, create a post about the issue you chose back in Module 1 Immigration Restrictions (see attached) to study for your research project. In 100 words or less:
Describe the historic roots of the issue.
Analyze how policies, debates, and concerns about the issues have evolved from the 1990s to the present.
Place the issue in the context of other major historical developments from the 1990s through the present, examining as well how the issue reflect changing relationships between the U.S. and other nations and entities throughout the world.
Second, create a second post of 100 words or less on your place in U.S. history. In this post:
Draw on the course readings and documents you shared in the Collaborative Annotated Bibliography M2, 3, &4 (attached) to reflect on how historic developments of the past three decades have impacted you.
Integrate some of your memories and lived experiences with the course readings.

Please support your discussion with material drawn from your assigned readings and/or scholarly websites. Avoid encyclopedic sources (except to follow the footnotes to find new sources) and be sure to formulate your comments in your own words. Please use the Chicago Style for citations, and take care to ensure that the citations are completed properly.
