Nurse practitioners form the most widely recognized advanced practice nurses. they extend their services into the emergency room and help in diagnosing patients in clinics where doctors may be unavailable. The need for nurse practitioners was especially overdue owing to the increased population and the low number of qualified doctors. The nurse practitioners fill the gap and offer services to the patients in convenient places and at affordable fees. The need for cheaper healthcare was also a force that pushed to the development of the nurse practitioners. Economic depression and, thence, reduced disposable income and the constant need for healthcare created a demand for affordable care and, therefore, the nurse practitioners.
