The Manic movie is set in a psychiatric unit of a mental hospital. The movie exhibits the life of ward residents and the diverse problems and challenges of rehabilitating the mentally disturbed groups. The star in the film, Lyle, is placed in the mental institution against his will after violently injuring his fellow classmate. He is compelled to deal with fellow patients in group therapy exercises where he quickly befriends Chad, a young man with a bi-polar disorder and also become attracted to Tracy.
