DQ 3- According to the recent government report by the National Research Council of the National Academies (2009), “…no forensic method other than nuclear DNA analysis has been rigorously shown to have the capacity to consistently and with a high degree of certainty support conclusions about “individualization” (more commonly known as “matching” of an unknown item of evidence to a specific known source)” (p. 3-2). What impact does this statement have upon the investigation of crime in the United States? What affect does this have on other forensic techniques such as fingerprinting, odontology (dentistry), forensic anthropology, etc?

DNA Analysis
DNA analysis has proved very effective in supporting different conclusions about individualization.
