Post Discussion: Diversity in College Athletics & Your Life (2 Parts)

College campuses often times represent some of the most unique and diverse environments. As an Athletic Director you must establish and assess how well your athletic department is demonstrating inclusiveness, as well as delivering opportunities where progress toward inclusion can be made. In this discussion, you will discuss your understanding of inclusiveness and how athletic directors deal with identifying areas of improvement.

Part 1: In your initial post, assume you are an Athletic Director on a college campus. Discuss how you would demonstrate your sensitivity to, awareness of, and understanding of inclusiveness as it relates to gender, faith, race, etc. on your campus within the scope of the programs under your direction. How do you demonstrate inclusiveness as it relates to the mission, vision and values of your college?

Part 2: Exercise 9.1. Answer the six questions about personal diversity on page 197 (Petrie, Hankes, & Denson, 2011) and post a reflective summary.

Support your statements with evidence from the Required Studies and your research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.
