Some students think that they do not have much of a cultural background because they were not born outside

Some students think that they do not have much of a cultural background because they were not born outside of the United States or because they do not speak another language. The truth is that everyone has a culture! Your culture can be related to your race, ethnicity, gender, age, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, ability, etc. Take some time to write about your own culture and share with us what makes you who you are. Try to not focus on just one aspect of yourself, but try to utilize as many cultural elements as possible. Also, address why culture is important in communication. How does your culture affect your communication with others?

We are all defined by our culture. This is perhaps the reason why I usually act and behave differently from those around me. For instance, in my culture families are highly valued. Close family members such as aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents are greatly valued. This is because of the fact that they are usually of great help in times of need. This is perhaps the reason why older family members are supposed to be respected a lot, as they keep the families intact. Based on this aspect, we are required to act……………..
