Hello Class and Instructor Christie. Child labor in my opinion is very cruel and having these children deprived from their childhood should not be allowed. If I were to ever find out that anything I buy and support had children laboring, I would discontinue being a customer with the company and inform them as to why I made my decision. In the world, 160 million children (36 million girls and 97 million boys) are in child labor accounting for almost 1 in 10 million of all children worldwide. Nearly half of whom 79 million children are in hazardous work. In many cases, they are abused by the very individuals responsible for their care. Some of the things that I think contributed to the economic abuse of children are families that start their own businesses and force their children to work for them to avoid having to pay employees. I also think that poor families who are having a rough time keeping the bills paid and food on the table are contributing to the economic abuse of children. In my opinion, based off research, if the economy provides more help to the poor communities and families and have affordable living expenses like food, housing and health care and insurance.
