Businesses need to determine how to meet their responsibilities to the environment ethically. Sustainability and its principles improve on older environmental models for businesses, such as the market and regulatory approaches. In this discussion forum, evaluate these approaches to satisfying environmental responsibilities and explain the ethical importance of fulfilling such responsibilities.

Defend the extent to which corporations have an ethical responsibility to protect the environment from harm that may result from the organization’s products. Be sure to incorporate an ethical theory in your answer, choosing among utilitarianism, deontology, or virtue ethics.
Explain the benefits of a sustainability approach in business, with its triple bottom line, as opposed to the limitations of the market and the regulatory approaches to environmental issues.
Identify the principles of sustainability that provide ways to limit negative environmental impact. What responsibility, if any, do corporations have to ensure that their products can be sustainably produced, recycled, and repurposed?
