1—–1. Book censorship has been proven to be needed in some cases when a book is used as a manual for terrorist and harmful acts. It is just like if someone uploads a video on Youtube doing a tutorial on how to create a pipe bomb, it will be demonitized and taken off of the platform and the internet immediately because that video should not get in the hands of someone who wants to hurt people and cause a massacre. Before Youtube, Books were the only way to learn new things and how to create new things via manuel. So if someone creates a book for pipe bombs or how to commit mass murder, that book should be taken down immediately so it wont fall into the wrong hands, just like the book, Breath of the Dragon: Homebuilt Flamethrower. If that book gets into the wrong hands, someone will hurt a lot of people. Whose fault is it? I believe its the publishers fault.

2. E-books has some positive and negative effects on the general population. The positive effects are; You don’t need to carry multiple books on you at the same time, because the books are on your mobile device; You don’t need to worry about holding a gigantic book in your hands, hust your mobile device in one hand; Don’t need to flip the page; Can’t loose a book; Can read at night or in the dark; Copy and paste option for quick notes. The Negative effects are; Bad for your eye sight because of the blue light; It is more memorable to touch a book and turn the page; Cant write on it; Awkward at first; People that are not that “tech-savvy” will have trouble figuring it out; Your battery might die out while using it; You might have to log in every time when you want to read, which will get very annoying.

3. I am a required reader. I know I should read more on my free time because the best knowledge comes from books, but the only time I read is when I am forced to, or when I need to for my school, Job, or my career. This takes a toll on my education life, because I do not like people telling me what to do or read ever since elementary school. School made reading boring and forceful for me, especially if it is from a teacher that everyone did not like. I am more precise and dedicated to my readings today, but when I was in my grade school years, I always tried to find loopholes in readings to read as less as possible and still get the gist of the story or the topic. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it did not work. But throughout my life, I grew to know that reading is really important in life, so I am doing my best to read as much as possible to gain knowledge and a love for reading. It is not there yet but I am trying.

I believe that any censorship of information is wrong. Even though there are risks with books that contain potentially dangerous information, like The Anarchist’s Cookbook. I think as a society we must accept the dissemination of this information and the associated risks because they are a lot less dangerous than the risks of the slippery slope of the censorship of information.

I think e-books help proliferate reading in the modern era. It’s ultra convenient to be able to hold thousands of books in your pocket. For many people it makes it easier to read, they just have to have their phone. For people that are students, it allows them to study on the go without having to carry an oversized textbook with them.

As a child I would have been classified as a bibliophile, I would read a few books a week up until about halfway through high school. I read about 5 books a year now. The only real effect I can notice is that I’m really good at trivia and being able to retain written information better than any other form.
