One current coffee shop trend is the introduction of new iced coffee ideas. I am not much of a coffee drinker but I do like iced coffee here and there so this could be a step forward to appeal to those that like their beverages cold.
Abd-al-Kadin had this to say in 1587, \”COFFEE IS THE COMMON MAN\’S GOLD, AND LIKE GOLD, IT BRINGS EVERY PERSON THE FEELING OF LUXURY AND NOBILITY.\” As I wrote previously in my Module 5 journal, as I have completed this week\’s assignments before writing this discussion, I believe that there are three kinds of people in this world: those that drink coffee, those who drink tea, and those who drink soda. I am not big on coffee, which may be because I like my drinks to be cold. Therefore, if I were to drink any coffee, it would need to be iced coffee.

There has been an increase in the amount of coffee houses and bars, with the book saying that record amounts of people have also been going to these places. This is most likely due to the wide variety of coffees (lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) that are now offered for costumers. I originally believed that the large companies of Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts meant bad business for coffee houses and bars, so I was surprised to see that these types of places were still well off.
A quote from Abd-al-kadin that I liked reading was: \’\’All cares vanish as the coffee cup is raised to the lips.\” He said this line in 1587. While I do not personally appreciate coffee as deeply as this, I thought this was interesting and I wonder how addicted he had been to coffee for him to say this, along with other quotes.
