Braxton Bragg was a career United States Army Officer, born of Thomas and Margaret Crosland Bragg on March 22 1817. He schooled in the neighborhood and later graduated and joined the United States of America Army (McWhiney, 1962). He was a native of North Carolina, where after his education at West Point he became an artillery officer.
Bragg was seen as a strict disciplinarian who feared nothing. He is said to the sort of person who openly argued with his supervisors even those high up in the hierarchy and one who feared nothing. He stood for his opinion, without allowing any form of intimidation…………………………………………..
