Oil statistics globally continue to elicit mixed reactions, whereby a majority are concerned about the likelihood of the peaking in oil production. Oil prices in the market continue to fluctuate with the recent times seeing a drop in the prices. Based on the data till May 2014, by around mid-2015 the oil basins shall produce about 7.7 billion barrels, with a peak of 3.9 million barrels a day, after which the supplies will dwindle (Patterson, 2014).
