Assignment 3: Addressing Challenges of Technology and Diversity Due Week 8 and worth 200 points Assume that you are applying for a teaching position at a new school in which teachers will work in teams along with administrators. Before being selected for an interview, you must provide the hiring committee with a philosophy statement that meets the criteria they have announced to applicants. As part of the criteria, the hiring committee has required that applicants provide four to five (4-5) academic sources to support their views on educational theory, technology, diversity, and measurement. A hiring committee composed of three (3) teachers, two (2) administrators, and two (2) parents will review applying teachers’ portfolios, philosophies, and conduct interviews. (For this assignment, your professor will represent the chairperson of the committee and will provide feedback to you.) Write a six to seven (6-7) page paper in which you: 1.Explain at least three (3) key principles to your philosophy and or theory of education, applying the principles to the subject area and grade level that you teach or plan to teach. 2.Propose at least three (3) ways to promote diversity in your subject area and grade level, providing a rationale for your proposal. 3.Recommend at least three (3) ways computer, mobile, or Internet technology could be used to provide effective instruction and learning experiences in your subject area and grade level. 4.Recommend at least three (3) ways to measure student learning in which the diversity and technology recommendations will be implemented. 5.Support your views with at least four (4) relevant scholarly sources. Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements: •Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA. Check with your professor for any additional instructions. •Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
