` Economic theory and common sense tend to suggest that large revenues collected from natural resources should lead to economic development and progress. However, this is not usually the case as evidence clearly suggests the opposite. This is based on the fact that nations with large natural resource reserves usually suffer from a curse brought about by these resources.
