Sociological Perspective

For this journal please reflect on your semester long development of the Sociological Perspective studied at the beginning of the semester in Chapter 1.

You have experienced the theory of the textbook married to your real life experience of Service Learning. You have experienced the diversity of culture, the joy of helping others, the wonder of receiving far more than you have given, the realization that you are part of a much bigger, more complex world.

Please reflect on your semester, not as an evaluation of the course, but rather as a sharing of insights you have gained.

For your consideration, listed here are characteristics of the Sociological Perspective:

A conscious effort to question the obvious…..

To remove ourselves from familiar experiences and examine them critically and objectively…..

To determine whether our generalizations about society are accurate…..

To see beyond individual experiences…..

To understand that human behavior is shaped by one’s surrounding social and cultural context…..

To look upon the individual as part of a larger society…..Langdon Mill this a place for a refugee from Iraq and Africa and we play with the kids and we watch movie and read books and have some snake and if the wither is a bit warmer we play outside with the kids. some of the kids love me because I speak the same language which is Arabic. this are the number of the last journals #2920274#2897517#2864349 IF YOU HAVE ANY Q ASK ME NOW NOT LAST MINUTE
