Review the reading from our text and state how Kotter’s last four steps (5 through 8) were applied in the story (two paragraphs), and then reflect on an organizational change effort that you are familiar with from the past (you can use the same organizational change effort you used for Module One) using Kotter’s last four steps (5 through 8) to diagnose the strengths and weaknesses of the change effort.

The presence of the most destructive force of nature does not deter creatures of habit from preferring to stick to their habit to avoid change. Such was the situation depicted by John Kotter in the book, “Our Ice is Melting.” The book personifies penguins to present a populace faced with the challenge of a melting iceberg and has little time to come up with a solution on how best to avert the imminent danger. The leader tasks a group of five with the mandate to seek possible solutions to the threat, a goal the team accomplishes promptly. The penguins have to embrace a life of nomadism as a solution to avert the danger of melting ice. Implementing the proposed solution, however, becomes a challenge for the leadership of the penguin colony, as there are dissenting leaders who view the change as unwarranted……………………………………………….
