In reviewing the disposition, it is an important because it certainly gives you a bird’s eye view of what is expected of myself not only personally but also professionally. It is sort of like a measuring cup, have the right amount of one thing before mixing it with the other ingredients. Knowing how well I do in a classroom setting before being getting out into my field. This also allows room for growth by knowing what areas may need improvement. My personal strengths that I connect with from the disposition would be a good listener. This is a trait that I have always had and over time have gotten better at listening and not so much to just respond. I have always been in situations where individuals will just tell me their life story and we barely know each other. Which brings about another strength of integrity and respect for that individual. My grandmother used to say that when someone tells you something they are trusting you with that information.
I have always been a people person so I can relate to all nationalities. My previous profession I have had to experience speaking to several individuals. Being diverse and understanding how to not be bias and make decisions that would be for the benefit of the individual.
Areas of personal growth would be that of written communication. As technology as improved our lives it has also caused other areas to diminish, and written communication is one of them. As we are texting more, many do not know how to write a memo or even a letter. I have always been a good communicator verbally but when trying to put those thoughts on to paper it comes with some difficulty. So, one of the ways that I work on this is by reading books like “Professionally Speaking” by Lilyan Wilder. Another way is by learning at least two new words every day and use them in a sentence. This would also be an area that I would like to improve in.
