Using the “Unit Plan Template,” create an outline for an English language arts unit plan for your field experience classroom. Your unit plan should be informed by your field experience observation and interview, and will ultimately consist of three completed lesson plans.

Include the following in your unit plan:

The theme, Summary, and Rationale: Explaining the primary literacy content and the theme of your unit, and its importance to English language arts instruction.
Standards: At least 3-5 English language arts state standards.
Objectives: Aligned with the state standards.
Anticipatory Set: Including pre-assessments or other ways to activate students’ prior knowledge and link previous learning.
Multiple Means of Representation: How you will present content in various ways to meet the needs of different learners.
Multiple Means of Engagement: How students will explore, practice, and apply the content.
Creative Arts Integration: Lesson Plan 1 will integrate music, Lesson Plan 2 will integrate drama or dance, and Lesson Plan 3 will integrate a creative art of your choice.
