Exposure to chemical elements that are present in some medical waste can lead to the breakdown of the immune system.

Ivan Reyes
Hello,

Exposure to chemical elements that are present in some medical waste can lead to the breakdown of the immune system. If used syringes are not appropriately disposed of and pierce the skin, it could potentially lead to the pierced individual acquiring an infection, such as HIV. In all workplaces where medical practices are undertaken, it is important to have clearly marked waste disposal units. This waste contains but is not limited to needles, discarded blood products, used bandages, and any bodily fluids used for testing purposes. The waste management system shall be fully harmonized with the transportation design to decide the most appropriate and safest means and routing of transport of wastes within the facility.
