            French, Spanish and English colonization was of America was aimed at extracting resources from America in order to build their economies. In the quest of extracting these resources, they also decided to ‘civilize’ people in America as they considered them to be poor and backward.

            Spain main focus was to convert people in Latin American to Christianity. This was because of their queen’s commitment in her faith, and opted to save many souls in this region by converting them into Christianity. The church thus introduced its culture, music and literature in this region. This led to establishment of education institutions such as universities, which still exist today.
